Britney's Seared A-ha Tuna

Who would have thought that Britney Spears, once a role model to small teenies everywhere, would have inspired a recipe that doesn't involve heart-shaped cupcake sprinkles? Well I think she's proven that she's moved past sprinkles, or at least the cupcake kind.

While some of you might worry that any recipe involving Britney may be tasteless, this lovely Seared Ahi is most flavorful. Hopefully it will be prophetic in any future publicity that Ms Spears intends to drum up, in that the canned tuna she's been dishing out will morph into a lovely, mature, and completely classy dish.

Ingredients

2 - 6-8 ounce Ahi tuna steaks (3/4 of an inch thick)
2 Tbsp dark sesame oil
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp of grated fresh ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
1 green onion thinly sliced
1 teaspoon lime juice

Mix the marinade ingredients together (saving a bit of green onion for garnish) and coat the tuna steaks with the marinade, cover tightly, and refrigerate for at least an hour.

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium high to high heat. When the pan is hot, remove the tuna steaks from the marinade and sear them for a minute to a minute and a half on each side. Remove from pan and slice into 1/4-inch thick slices. Sprinkle with a few green onion slices.

Party on!
